BULLETIN BOARD # 2 GENERAL INFO w/ Rudy Delima

           We are offering Technical Vocational Education and Training Courses. .

         For the initial offering, we offer Driving NC II  and in the pipeline are Automotive Servicing NCI II, Animal Production NCII , Horticulture NC II. Aquaculture NC II.  Animal Production   and Horticulture NC II uses both conventional and  natural farming - organic agriculture technologies. These programs can be offered free of charge if we get the support from government agencies  or an applicant qualifies for scholarship.

             We have partner institutions which are offering TESDA and CHED programs such as ACES Polytechnic College of Panabo City, a Nationally Accredited Private Extension Service Provider of the Agricultural Training Institute of the Department of Agriculture. ACES Polytechnic College is Headed by President / CEO Dr Francisco P de la Pena, Jr a former TESDA administrator of Dipolog School of Fisheries and Chief Admin of Dep Ed in Region  11 .
        
              We express our gratitude to Dr. Francisco P de la Pena, Jr and  Mr. Charlie Taguiam, the owner of the building and lot where the Action for Skills Knowledge Education and Wellness Center Corp is located, for providing full support to its vision, mission and goals. Without their personal commitment and action to help, this effort to set-up a training facility will take a long time to achieve. 

                  
        The following is a short introduction of the Board of Directors , the Policy Making Body of Action for Skills Knowledge Education and Wellness Center Corp. for you to know them.

       Dr Vicenta B. Maranga, Chairperson, is a Doctor of Education and retired District Supervisor of Dep Ed. She was a principal, teacher and a guidance counselor and participates in church activities whenever she can. She is the treasurer of the Board and acts a guidance counselor for the career guidance services. 

       Engr. Oscar S. Ma, a Professional Mechanical Engineer is the auditor. He is well-known in the industrial arena in Cebu as he is active in Pollution Control Association of the Philippines, Inc., Coast Guard Auxillary, and many other groups. He is known as a trustworthy partner in many endeavors. He is also the Industry Coordinator for Visayas.

            Mr. Vianney D. Garol, a former catholic monk who worked with a bank assigned in rural development. He is President of TRIM consultants and General Manager of ACES Natural Farming Institute. Mr. Garol is in Mindanao 

            Ms. Michelle Maranga-Cuerquis, School Head, the Executive Assistant of the Marco Polo Hotel General Manager and the model TESDA graduate and named as TESDA Idol of Region 7. She is a holder of TESDA Food and Beverage NC III  certificate and AQ TQ certificate holder. She is the Board Secretary.

           Dr. Silvano B. Maranga, President /Chief Executive Officer and founder is a Doctor in Technology Education and a former Regional Director of TESDA region 7, 10 and 11. During his stint as Regional Director, he was concurrently assigned as National TESDA Marketing Officer of the Dangal ng Barangay which was a project to reach out to communities for skills training and livelihood programs. He is a member of the Technical Expert Panel that formulated the TESDA Organic Agriculture Production NC II. He is multi-skilled being a graduate of Don Bosco Technical High School. He is presently the President and CEO of Action for Skills Knowledge Education and Wellness Center Corp and owns copyright of a book on Health and Wellness.

The officers of Action for Skills Knowledge Education and Wellness Center Corp visited the Barangay Bongdo, Borbon as the location or address of the Non-stock Non-profit corporation.

We are glad to know that the Barangay Captain Hon. Severino Mondonedo is aware of programs conducted in the area and needs follow-up assistance. During the informal discussion that transpired, we believe that the community will benefit  from the programs of Action for Skills Knowledge Education and Wellness through a focused community outreach program.

Barangay councilors , Mr. Alexander Cole cell 09351576091 and councilor Wilfreda Metoda cell 09169497428 are present during the informal discussion and shared some information to support the need for skills program in the area.

A quick orientation on how to use the internet was done and how it can contribute to the training process for the community members of Barangay, Bongdo, Borbon, Cebu. Barangay Capt Severino Mondenedo eagerly shows his interest to learn the process of getting information from the blogspot.

A little bit of history: During my stint as Regional Director of TESDA Region 7, Mr. Rudy Deliima implemented a community-based  training in Barangay Bongdo, Borbon, Cebu. That was in Cy 1998 and if I recall correctly the project involved raising chicken and other livestock. I remember visiting Barangay Bongdo in 1998  to talk with the trainees of the association of farmers headed by Mr. Rudy Delima. The training activities of the Action for Skills Knowledge Education and Wellness Center Corp is expected to continue the development programs as envisioned in CY 1998.

Discussions on the Training for Work Scholarship of TESDA for Trainees of a TESDA Registered Program

This rain -fed concrete water tanks provide water to plants and the fish  pond.

A simple hog pen shall be expanded or replicated with modifications to meet the requirements for a model on organic hog pen in line with the policy to transform conventional agriculture to organic agriculture as defined by RA 10068 and the Philippine National Standard.. 

 A minor damage due to typhoon on areas allocated to training for the Agri-fisheries sector will not deter the community and the center to organize for TESDA registered programs.

A month after the devastation of Typhoon Yolanda, technical experts from TESDA Siquijor and Cebu visited the Action for Skills Knowledge Education and Wellness Center Corp to assess on the possibility  to offer Courses in Animal Production NC II, Horticulture NC II and Aquaculture NC II

On Tuesday June 18, 2013 the  team of the Action  for Skills Knowledge Education and Wellness Center Corp visited the Municipal office of Borbon, to arrange for the Fire Safety Certificate, Memorandum for Health Services and Mayors Permit. These documents are needed for the issuance of TESDA Registration of the Programs that are to be offered at the Center. We were accommodated well provided assistance by Mr Roland Bucog, Engr Rivera, Mila Sollano .Mr. Junrey Pinaapol, a Higaonon youth leader from Northern Mindanao, during my assignment as TESDA 10 Regional Director has settled in Bongdo, Borbon. He is providing support in sending information and arranging for visits to officers and members of the community for the center.

THE FOLLOWING CERTIFICATES OF DR SILVANO B. MARANGA, FORMER TESDA DIRECTOR OF TESDA REG 7, REG 10 AND REGION 11 ARE SOME OF THE DOCUMENTS WHICH SHOW THE QUALIFICATION OF THE INCORPORATOR. HE STARTED HIS CAREER IN TESDA UNDER THE THEN NATIONAL MAN POWER AND YOUTH COUNCI  AND JOINED THE SKILLS  TRAINING AND  TESTING  AS BASIC MECHANIC TRAINOR WITH SKILLS IN LATHE MACHINE OPERATIONS, SHAPER AND OTHER MACHINING EQUIPMENT. HE HAD BEEN TRAINED AS A MECHANIC AND HAVE 3 YEAR WORK AS A TAXI DRIVER. HE PASSED THE HOUSEWIRING ELECTRICIAN TEST. HE TRAINED AS A WELDER IN GAS AND ELECTRIC, SHEETMETAL WORK, PLUMBING. AS A REGIONAL DIRECTOR IN REGION 10, HE CLOSELY WORKED WITH THE ADMINISTRATORS AND TRAINORS IN VARIOUS AGRI-BASED PROGRAMS INCLUDING ANIMAL PRODUCTION, HORTICULTURE AND AQUACULTURE.

THE PROJECTS ON BIOGAS DIGESTER CONSTRUCTION WAS AN IMPORTANT SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE THAT DR. SILVANO B. MARANGA EMBARKED ON IN TESDA REGION 10, IN ADDITION TO THE HYDROPONICS AND USE OF DUCKWEED AS ORGANIC FERTILIZER. 

THESE CERTIFICATES ARE ISSUED TO HIM NOW THAT HE IS NO  LONGER A REGIONAL DIRECTOR.  AS  A DOCTOR IN TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION, MANY OF THE TRAINING TECHNOLOGIES CAN BE APPLIED IN AGRO-FISHERY AND INDUSTRIALCOURSES OFFERED BY THE ACTION FOR SKILLS KNOWLEDGE EDUCATION AND WELLNESS CENTER CORP.





 DR. SILVANO B. MARANGA IS PRESENTLY A HOLDER OF A COPYRIGHT ISSUED BY THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OFFICE ON A BOOK AUTHORED BY HIM ON HEALTH AND WELLNESS, EXERCISE 60 MORE OR LESS FOR PEOPLE WHO DO NOT HAVE TIME TO EXERCISE
